I remember talking to a friend in a club once.
I was sharing some gossip I knew about some girl. Nothing super disrespectful. Just random shit my friends and I encountered about her mildly infuriating behavior before.
It was a club, hence obviously it was loud from the music the DJ was playing. There were bottles of alcohol on the table. There were pretty girls everywhere. Guys were having fun and trying to socialize.
After sharing the tea, my friend replied with a somewhat condescending sigh, "You need to focus on yourself bro. Why do you allow such people in your life? It's time you put your energy into more meaningful things!"
I stood there silent.
"Ok" was all I replied. I turned away immediately after.
And that's what gnaws at me when it comes to mental health, self-improvement and shit:
People who make it their entire personality and have no off switch.
They are always ready to expound some life lesson nobody asked for.
"Read the fucking room bro" would be the best reply I can give such people.
There's a time and place for everything, so let's chill with the mental health and self-improvement crap for a bit.
