Personally, for the times I felt super down and depressed, the aimlessness came from consistently thinking of the pointlessness of it all, pointlessness which derived from contrived packages and solutions.
Yes, solutions. They are all supposed to help you, but it created more skepticism instead. The irony.
I would think of:
. Self-help books and how many of them exist out there.
. Podcasts and how almost every one of them talk about mental health, hence thinking what they say is important when it's all cliched drivel.
. Motivational TikTok videos that are produced well, but downright cringey at times.
. Men who are all about "manliness" and "masculinity" in which they forcefeed you the idea that you must suffer and not complain about it.
. Successful people who are always ready to shed their life lessons and think that they're supposed to work for everyone.
. The idea that a successful and happy life should be the same format for everyone.
Is this it? I would always wonder to myself.
Maybe it's social media's fault for sharing too many ideas and too much information too quickly.
Maybe I am overthinking it.
But I do think that having no idea and not knowing what to expect should be the way to go sometimes.
To have a contrived package of an answer, one which you did not create yourself, may be more harmful than you think.
So try your best and live blindly.
